Job Description:
Collaborate with a cross-functional team to improve the optical quality of transparency articles and to automate the corresponding processes via Robotic development.
Responsibilities
* Research and development to improve existing aerospace transparency systems, materials, and manufacturing processes.
* Robotics and Automation development
* Measuring, documenting, and improving current manufacturing process capabilities.
* Perform complex assignments often requiring development of new or improved products, processes, or techniques
* May assess the feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering tests, products, and equipment.
* Continuous improvement; use data-driven approach to implement improvements in the manufacturing areas for process stabilization, repeatability, control, efficiencies of labor, and time and cost reduction in scrap and rework
* Create process flow maps, support manufacturing operators with tools and equipment, with all necessary documentation
* Utilization of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, DOE, FMEA, and value stream mapping
* Cross-team collaboration and high level of communication for correct interpretation of the data and efficient delivery, throughout the project
Education and Experience
* Bachelor of Science Degree or higher in a STEM or related field
* 2+ years of experience in manufacturing or process engineering (or equivalent)
* Microsoft Project and SolidWorks experience preferred
Skills and Knowledge
* Familiarity of Automation and Robotics and relevant programming languages
* Ability to travel up to 10%
* Familiarity with Six Sigma concepts is highly desired.
