Our company is building a robotic manipulation platform designed from the ground up for AI based controls. Our novel low cost artificial muscle actuators mimic the functionality of human muscles and allow for fluid and dexterous movements that are not feasible with conventional actuation systems.
We are looking for a talented individual to join our small team of engineers and researchers, who is focused on tackling complex real-world dexterous manipulation tasks. This role offers you the opportunity to work with innovative algorithms and hardware, pushing the boundaries of what is possible in robotics today. You will be tasked with bringing cutting-edge work from robotics to life by implementing it on our robot. If you are passionate about working on state-of-the-art robots and enjoy solving tough problems in a fun and dynamic environment, we would love to have you on our team!
Responsibilities
Engineering on Robot: Implement, debug and evaluate existing robotics algorithms (e.g. from research paper) on our robot hand platform.
Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., engineers, software developers, research scientists, designers, business developers, etc) to develop our robot platform for products and services.
Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to team members and interns.
Other tasks: Willing to take up other tasks in the startup as needed.
Location: Work primarily out of the company's office in the Brooklyn Navy Yard.
Qualifications:
Understanding of robotics algorithms and how to use them (e.g. forward kinematics).
Experience with implementing algorithms in simulations and then applying them in hardware.
Proficient skills in writing software, especially in C++ and Python.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
A passion for innovation and a desire to push the boundaries of robotics manipulation platforms.
Work in an unstructured environment with minimal guidance.
