SAS Programmer

Objective of Assignment:

• Provide documentation for current SAS Jobs, including their input and output.
• Create Run-Books that organize SAS processes for easy execution. These Run-Books should:
  •  
    • Clearly outline steps for running each process.
    • Be accessible to anyone reviewing them.
    • Cover automated processes (e.g., month-end, weekly, daily).
• Document any setup or completion processes required for the month-end cycle. 

Current State Documentation:

• Document the process for external data feeds (Data Ingestion).
• Capture the Data Outputs generated by SAS processes (such as reports and extracts).
• Detail the SAS Processes themselves, including the order in which they run.

Manual Adjustments:

• Record any manual adjustments made during SAS job execution.

Known Enhancements:

• Automate the Data Ingestion process (likely outside of SAS). The Lead Data Engineer will collaborate on this.
• Explore automation options for Data Extraction. We’ll assess whether converting SAS Data Sets or CSV Extracts to MS SQL or Azure SQL tables is feasible. The Data Team will likely handle this work
