Scientist II

Key Responsibilities:

• Works in a molecular biology laboratory setting and executes experiments daily within a team
• Performs detail-oriented experiments using next-generation sequencing and qPCR technologies
• Performs data analysis, prepares presentations and presents results to the team at group meetings
• Maintains a laboratory notebook and adheres to strict protocol guidelines
• Pays excellent attention to details and can follow complex molecular biology protocols

Key Knowledge:

• Molecular Biology
• Fundamental laboratory knowledge
• PCR and next-generation sequencing knowledge
• Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc…

 
Education and Experience:

• B.S. with at least 3 years of experience in an academic or industrial laboratory or M.S. with 2 years' experience in an academic or industrial laboratory
• Hands-on experience in a molecular biology laboratory: DNA and RNA purification and quantitation, PCR, quantitative PCR
• Ideal candidates will also have experience working in a clean room or PCR preparation hood, making libraries for, or performing next generation sequencing
• Experience in IVD product development, clinical genetic testing, or core laboratory facility is a plus
• Must be tolerant to change, ready to take on new challenges and open to learning new skills.
