Security Expert

Job Description:

As a (senior) Security expert, you are responsible for the daily monitoring and follow-up of various security reports and network traffic within our organization. You play a crucial role in processing incoming security issues via tickets, such as phishing, identity, malware, antivirus and other related matters.

You will work together with various teams and stakeholders to maintain and expand a robust security infrastructure. In concrete terms, this involves the following tasks:

• Daily monitoring and analysis of security reports and network traffic on the various dashboards: registration, analysis, resolution and advising on incoming security issues via ticketing.

• Operational follow-up of and collaboration with other IT teams to resolve reported alerts and investigations.

• Management of vulnerability management, including the resolution of outstanding issues and identification of Quick Wins for solutions.

• Developing, documenting and maintaining processes for the Security Operations Center (SOC) to efficiently follow up on security events.

• Contributing to the operational implementation of security projects. • Handle phishing alert notifications and make proposals for process improvements (such as Phished.io).

• Proactively act and search for potential security problems and help solve them

• Report findings and provide advice to management and other stakeholders

• Participate in audits for the ICT security section

You have

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant IT-related discipline.

• A good knowledge of security standards and frameworks such as ISO27001, NIST and CISControls

• Good communication skills for documenting processes and collaborating with various teams.

• The ability to work independently and function well in a team.

• Proactive attitude towards identifying potential risks and improving security processes.

• Fluent in the other national language as well as English

Another plus is having worked in the public sector and/or the Social Security Institutions.

For this position, you must be physically present in Brussels at least 2 days a week.
