Security Technology Subject Matter Expert

Job Description:
This position is really a hybrid between the two roles; A cross between a security generalist and technical person who's familiar and worked with different security tool implementations. This person will help find solutions to security business needs along with helping to identify gaps in our current tool set. They will also play a part in ensuring that we are actively working to improve products We are seeking an experienced Security Technology Subject Ma tt er Expert (SME) to join our IT Security team. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of security technologies and best practices, providing guidance and exper ti se to enhance our security posture and address emerging threats.

Key Responsibili ti es:

• Serve as the primary resource for security technology solu ti ons, providing insights and recommenda ti ons on best prac ti ces and emerging trends.
• Evaluate and recommend security technologies that align with organiza ti onal goals, ensuring they meet security standards and compliance requirements.
• Help guide the deployment and integra ti on of security technologies, collabora ti ng with cross-func ti onal teams to ensure effec ti ve implementa ti on.
• Iden ti fy poten ti al security risks and vulnerabili ti es, advising on risk mi ti ga ti on strategies and solu ti ons.
• Assist in the crea ti on and refinement of security policies and procedures, ensuring they reflect current technologies and compliance standards.
• Work closely with stakeholders across the organiza ti on to align security ini ti a ti ves with business objec ti ves and regulatory requirements

Required Skills:
 

• Experience in information security, with a focus on security technologies
• Proven expertise in specific security technologies (e.g., SIEM, DLP, IAM, cloud security)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to convey complex security concepts in a clear and relatable manner.
• Strong understanding of technical concepts and the ability to convey complex information clearly.
• Proficient in documentation tools (e.g., Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, Confluence).
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CCSP) preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Experience in project management and leading crossfunctional initiatives
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
