Senior BI Architect

Required Skills- Demonstrated project experience with multiple leading cloud BI tools. - 5+ years’ experience working in the Business Intelligence space at an Architect level. - 5+ years’ experience implementing BI solutions in Azure cloud environments. - 2+ years’ experience working with Snowflake and Postgres databases.

Position Summary:
The Center for Health Information and Analysis (CHIA) is seeking a contract Senior BI Architect to design, develop, and implement our organization’s BI strategy for a health data warehouse project for approximately fifteen (15) months. The project team, consisting of temporary and permanent staff, will rebuild an existing data warehouse using new ETL, Business Intelligence, and database platforms with an eye towards cost containment and improved technical performance.  This key role will work with Senior Management and our Data Analysts to identify business goals and objectives and then design and implement a BI solution that meets those goals.
The Senior BI Architect will also research and recommend a new enterprise level BI tool, work with business teams to gain consensus on that tool and help train users on how to use it.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
Hybrid work model.  The Senior BI Architect is expected to work in person (Back Bay area, Boston) every Tuesday and Wednesday and remotely on other business days.
Cloud technologies, preferably MS Azure and Snowflake.
Working with Health Care data, preferably in the payer space.
Troubleshooting BI issues and problems and providing support to BI users.
Assisting staff in a consulting capacity, with implementing and using BI tools and technologies.
Leading a business wide BI solution implementation.
Analyzing business needs and recommending an appropriate BI tool that will provide the required performance for Data Analysts.
Leading the design and implementation of semantic layers on top of Snowflake and/or Postgres, in an MS Azure environment.
A combination of technical expertise and leadership skills to effectively navigate the complexities supporting multiple in-house business units.
Demonstrable experience in evaluating business needs and implementing BI strategies to meet those needs.
2+ years’ experience working with Snowflake and Postgres databases.
5+ years’ experience implementing BI solutions in Azure cloud environments.
5+ years’ experience working in the Business Intelligence space at an Architect level.
Demonstrated project experience with multiple leading cloud BI tools.
