Senior Cloud Engineer

Position Summary

The Senior Cloud Engineer is responsible for the strategy, design, development and implementation and maintenance of cloud and on premise infrastructure; supporting production and development projects across ACORD & ASG. This process includes optimization, monitoring, patching/maintenance, troubleshooting and supporting the end-to-end release process within our infrastructure and deployment pipeline. As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you will have a firm grasp of emerging technologies, platforms, and applications and an ability to customize them for client core systems.

Position Responsibilities

 

• Works in tandem with VP Technology Shared Services and App teams to design the appropriate Infra architecture.
• Creates and enforces policies required for data management standards, physical and logical security, disaster recovery, data systems accessibility, and maintenance.
• Creates IaaC templates using CloudFormation.
• Maintains education on and proposes new technologies for improvements required to the computer systems infrastructure.
• Must work with all departments to ensure corporate infrastructure is maintained as new systems are proposed, developed, and implemented.
• Maintains knowledge on company products, services, and distribution systems to ensure they are supported by the internal computer systems.
• Responsible to analyze, propose, and present new technologies to SVP of Standards/ IT.
• Designs Network Topology diagrams.
• Educates staff on AWS best practices and recommendations.
• Exercises absolute discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information.
  
   

Education & Essential Skills

 

• BS in computer sciences or equivalent preferred.
• Certifications on Amazon Web Services.
• Programming skills using Boto3.
• Good understanding of AWS CLI.
• Strong knowledge of systems management skills and 3rd party tools.
• Strong knowledge in Automation/DevOps; scripting and tooling.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Ability to communicate across all levels of the organization.
  
   

Experience

 

• 3+ years of working experience on AWS infra setup; architecting, designing, developing and implement cloud solutions
• Minimum of two years of Cloud/IaaS experience; AWS and Azure Preferred
• Minimum of five years with Linux and Windows Server experience
