Location: Veterans Affairs facilities in the Washington, District of Columbia (DC) region (100% on-site)

Program Overview:
The Office of Performance Analysis and Integrity oversees the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW), a pivotal platform for data management and analytics. Our team provides comprehensive support for the EDW, encompassing project management, data warehouse management, advanced analytics, and more. We prioritize enhancing business intelligence capabilities and predictive analytics while ensuring data security and integrity.

Functional Job Information:
As a Senior Database Administrator, you will be an integral part of our high-performance team, responsible for ensuring the security, availability, and optimal operation of critical data within the Enterprise Data Warehouse and Oracle Business Intelligence applications. You will coordinate with other Database Administrators and technical resources to plan, implement, and maintain expansive Oracle Database and Oracle Business Intelligence Application changes, updates, and improvements. Additionally, you will monitor the environment, analyze performance data, implement performance tuning strategies, and ensure compliance with security policies and regulations. Your role will involve collaborating with stakeholders, developing migration strategies to a federally accredited Cloud Environment, and preparing and maintaining documentation.

Responsibilities:
• Be available on-site at the Government site in Washington DC during normal hours of operations.
• Monitor Oracle, OBIEE, and Informatica servers.
• Implement Oracle database performance tuning and improvement processes.
• Monitor nightly Informatica processes and perform daily backup and recovery strategies.
• Upgrade and configure OBIEE and Informatica servers, and configure OBIEE Security.
• Manage Oracle users/roles and object security.
• Collaborate with developers to develop performance improvement strategies and plans.
• Manage object partitioning and parallel executions, and develop database compression methodologies.
• Coordinate Oracle patches and upgrades with VA's Office of Information Technology.
• Prepare, deliver, and maintain reports and documentation.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Electronic Engineering, or other Engineering technical discipline (8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for degree).
• Experience in Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and Recovery Manager (RMAN).
• Experience migrating Oracle database and BI tools from on-premise to Cloud Environment.
• Experience implementing Oracle database performance tuning and improvement processes.
• Minimum of 5 years supporting Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) applications.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain the required security clearance.
