Senior Database Developer (Advanced) Senior level SQL Server and Azure Database Developer working both independently and within team environments that will operate in all aspects of RDBMS database design, security, and administration.
Ability to comprehend and author complex and extensive SQL code is a must, with the expectations of maintaining and rewriting legacy processes to accommodate versioning and infrastructure changes.
SQL programming skills should be denoted via efficient and effective syntax, acceptable peer code reviews, demonstratable product results, and documentation principles.
Responsible for designing, modeling, developing and supporting Database Management Systems (DBMS).
Analyzes data requirements, application and processing architectures, data dictionaries, and database schema(s), and then designs, develops, amends, optimizes, and certifies database schema design to meet system(s) requirements.
Gathers, analyzes, and normalizes relevant information related to, and from business processes, functions, and operations to evaluate data credibility and determine relevance and meaning.
Develops database and warehousing designs across multiple platforms and computing environments. Develops an overall data architecture that supports the information needs of the business in a flexible but secure environment.
Skills Required
Candidate should be extremely proficient with Data Manipulation Language (DML), Data Query Language, (DQL), and Data Control Language (DCL) as well as data management concepts such as normalization, aggregation, concurrency, and data modeling, to include data interchange formats such as JavaScript Object Notation (JSON).
Azure Cloud services, BLOB Storage, DevOps, SQL Data Tools, MS Power Apps, SQL Reporting Services, and MS Power BI are additional resources that the candidate should be highly provisioned for in the implementation of enterprise level services.
Strong expertise in Data Modeling - Logical Modeling, Physical Modeling, Relational Modeling, ER Diagrams, Entities, Attributes, Cardinality, Functions, Views, and Triggers. Ability to gather business requirements from process owners and translate that information into viable data models and elements supporting application development.
Security driven concepts are top priority in all development and applied against standards set by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Microsoft Trust Center (Azure compliance), Penetration testing, and any internal departmental policies. Extended Experience utilizing the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process alongside the Agile development environment utilizing SRUM framework. Candidate will possess superior communication and documentation skills, strong decision making and organizational attributes along with exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
Candidate will work closely with Project Management, Application Designers, Peer Data Administrators and Project Owners in workflow and business rule discovery, application design assistance, data modeling, and any applicable project related implementation of process controls. Must also attend and participate in all assigned project meetings.
This position reports directly to the section director and may require after business hour availability as related to stability of process controls.
