In this role, you will:

  • Lead or participate in database management activities including designing highly complex logical and physical databases
  • Lead highly complex data modeling, mapping, integration, and capacity planning efforts
  • Perform the planning, research, design, implementation, maintenance, and control of server class databases
  • Design and implement security solutions including Center for Internet Security benchmarks and auditing
  • Design and certify next generation database technologies
  • Consult with and advise management and multiple clients on high impact data or database management issues, influencing strategic direction
  • Provide technical leadership and recommendation into the future direction of database technology
  • Develop management policies, procedures, standards, and best practices
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals


Required Qualifications, US:

  • 4+ years of Database Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2014, 2016, 2017 and 2019 Administration and Engine.
    •    Experience with Microsoft SSIS 2014, 2016, 2017 and 2019 Project deployments, Administration and Migrations.
    •    Experience in configuring and managing SQL database Cluster, ALWAYS ON, Mirroring.
    •    Expert-level knowledge of backup, restore, recovery models, database maintenance operations.
    •    Implement and maintain database security (create and maintain users and roles, assign privileges).
    •    Implement database patches, upgrades and migrations.
    •    Expert in Performance tuning and query optimization using DMVs, Performance Monitor, SQL Profiler and other related monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
    •    Experience in authoring and analyzing T-SQL code and schema (stored procedures, functions, tables, views, triggers, indexes, constraints).
    •    Experience in troubleshooting, configuration management and experience with High Availability (HA).
    •    Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and assistance.
    •    Ability to write and debug complex SQL queries, stored procedures and data migration scripts.
    •    Strong organizational skills, good communication skills.
    •    Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies in a fast-paced environment.
    •    Good to have knowledge in SSAS, SSRS and PowerBI Administration.
    •    Good to have knowledge in Oracle database administration, Powershell and Python.
    •    Good to have knowledge in Azure and GCP cloud platforms.

        Production & Platform support involves being on standby for providing 16x7 support & responsible to maintain high availability of the systems & applications
        Responsible for Change & Release Management by being a gatekeeper and ensuring change/release issues are controlled through early engagement and efficient reviews
        Support the most complex technical issues & initiatives (Upgrade/Tech Refresh) for large-scale applications/systems/databases/other technical products/services.
        Development of technical support strategies & plans / Automation & Instrumentation to enable efficiency in restoration & stability
        Works on complex problems, debugging & propose solutions where analysis of situations or data requires evaluation of complex business problems.
        Perform Problem Management by identifying recurring/chronic issues, identify improvement areas & implement innovative/viable solutions that can result in operational efficiency/benefits.
        Provides the ongoing operational support for the ETL platform & nightly batch jobs assuring application health & scheduled data loads / workarounds on time
        Evaluate SLA, identifies gaps, suggest changes to assure supporting SLAs.
        As an escalation point, provides guidance and direction to less experienced staff in resolution of highly complex technical problems. Leads projects and manages the work of less experienced staff
        Assures quality, security and compliance requirements are met for supported technology domain
        Ability to handle constantly changing priorities, remain productive and be able to multitask effectively during busy times
        Efficient communication with application stakeholders about application availability & platform updates including any application outages, issues, failures, availability delays etc.
        Ready to work in shift hours that spans between 6.30 AM to 10:30 PM IST & On-Call support.

SQL server database engineer with 5+ years of working knowledge in SQL/oracle database administration, architecture and its concepts.
This role includes Production Support & Platform Support under ITIL in challenging production environment of critical banking applications. 
Expected to take complete Accountability & responsibility over deliverables. 
Should be efficient in decision making with good Partnership / Stakeholder Management
