You will be responsible for developing transformative next-gen data platforms that enable faster, secure & efficient data solutions. Reporting to the Director of Database Engineering team, you will contribute to the overall engineering, design, and support of all database implementations leveraging Microsoft SQL Server, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, AWS Redshift, Databricks, and several other data stores.
Your primary area of responsibility will be focused on designing, modeling and optimizing OLTP related database technologies (ROMBS and NoSQL) to build performant applications.
Note: This is NOT a Data Warehouse (or Bl/Analytics/ML&AI) focused role so please keep this in mind before applying.
Responsibility:
Design and development of various data models associated with Relational DBs (MS SQL Server, Azure SQL, PostgreSQL, or similar) and NoSQL DBs (Cosmos DB, Cassandra, Dynamo DB or similar) Ensuring database features and capabilities are incorporated into data model designs to optimize performance, resiliency, and scalability
Writing and performance tuning complex stored procedures and familiarity in support ng Entity Framework based application coding concepts
Working closely with other technology eaders to design and develop enterprise-wide data strategy for data modeling, data pipelines, and data integrations across various environments and technology stacks Developing performant data movement pipelines using real-time event data streams (Apache Kafka, Azure Event Hub, AWS Kinesis, Azure Databricks etc.)
Delivering and presenting proofs of concept to of key technology components to project stakeholders and internal technology leaders
Developing the data architecture and governance models for systems of engagement and provides the framework for integrating source systems with the transactional databases and/or data warehouses; Ensuring data architectural designs are consistent, maintainable, flexible, extensible and cost effective
Ensuring data security and privacy standards are implemented including- role based security, encrypt on, tokenization, and obfuscation
Performing problem-solving of application issues and production errors, including high level critical production issues that require immediate attention
Work with other technology leaders on setting database standards and best practices for designing and architecting cloud-based data and reporting applications
Required:
Minimum 6 years of overall software development experience
Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in database engineering (ROMBS and NoSQL)
Bachelors degree in Computer science, Computer Engineering or related field
Experience with RDMBS (primarily MS SQL Server); proficiency with advanced SQL concepts (T-SQL, PL/SQL, etc.) that processes millions of transactions daily with very high processing rates to support mission critical databases
Good understanding of SQL engine internals to help design and tune databases to get the optimal performance
Development experience with NoSQL DBs (Cassandra, Cosmos DB, Dynamo DB or similar);and associated data modeling
Experience in designing, developing, and deploying cloud-based solutions which leverage cloud provided platforms (Azure/AWS)
Knowledge of data structures and algorithms and excellent programming skills (.NET, C#, Python and/core Java)
Demonstrated expertise in performance tuning in various DB environments with large volume and velocity of data
Experience working in a Dev/Ops environment with tools such as Azure Dev Ops, Microsoft Visual Studio Team Services, Chef, Puppet or Terraform
Experience in handling structured and semi structured data forms like JSON/XML and normalization of data structures
Understanding of OLTP and OLAP applications
Must Have:
Experience with ETL tools such as Informatica, ADF or SSIS is a plus
Financial technology domain knowledge
