Senior DevSecOps Engineer

Job Description Client is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior DevSecOps Engineer with expertise in AWS environments to join our innovative team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in development, security, and operations, with a focus on implementing and maintaining secure and scalable, automated infrastructure . This role requires a strategic thinker who can effectively balance security requirements with operational efficiency to drive continuous improvement and innovation. As a Senior DevSecOps Engineer, You Will • Secure Infrastructure Design: Design, implement, and maintain secure infrastructure solutions in AWS environments, leveraging best practices for security, scalability, and performance. • Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate the deployment of applications and infrastructure components while integrating security controls throughout the pipeline. • Security Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2) by implementing and maintaining security controls, conducting regular audits, and remediating vulnerabilities. • Threat Detection and Incident Response: Implement and maintain monitoring and logging solutions to detect and respond to security threats and incidents in real-time, ensuring timely resolution and minimizing impact. • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Implement Infrastructure as Code principles using tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation to automate the provisioning and management of AWS resources securely. • Security Automation: Develop and maintain scripts and automation tools to streamline security processes such as vulnerability scanning, patch management, and configuration management. • Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, security analysts, and operations engineers to promote a culture of security and DevOps best practices. Share knowledge and provide mentorship to junior team members. To Be Successful, You Need: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; Master’s degree preferred. • Minimum of 8 years of experience in DevSecOps or a related field, with a strong focus on AWS environments. • Hands-on experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, Lambda, and CloudWatch. • Proficiency in scripting and automation using languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell. • Deep understanding of security principles and best practices, with experience implementing security controls in AWS environments. • Experience with DevOps tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or CircleCI. • Strong knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes. • Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to analyze complex systems to identify and resolve security issues. • US Citizenship required • Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Security - Specialty, Certified DevOps Engineer, or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) preferred
