Prioritized Must Have Skills for the Senior Director of Impact:

#1. Proven experience in nonprofit leadership, with a focus on fundraising and development.

#4. Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in the design and execution of marketing, communications, and public relations activities within a fast-paced environment. Strong creative, strategic, analytical, organizational, and personal sales skills.

#5. Strong strategic thinking and planning skills. Ability to demonstrate superior organization skills is required.

#6. Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with diverse stakeholders. Maintains a customer service demeanor at all times. Builds rapport and provides assistance to high-profile external constituents as well as internal staff. Takes detailed and thorough messages and conveys them effectively to others.

Responsibilities of the Senior Director of Impact:

1. Fundraising Strategy and Planning:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies to achieve annual and long-term fundraising goals.
  • Collaborate with the Board of Directors and key stakeholders to align fundraising efforts with the foundation’s mission and objectives.
  • Generate reports as needed that provide key programmatic information for all fundraising, marketing and community partnership efforts.

2. Donor Cultivation and Stewardship:

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with current and potential donors, including individuals, foundations, corporate partners and third-party event managers.
  • Research, identify and pursue new sources of corporate and foundation funding.
  • Implement effective stewardship programs to recognize and engage donors, ensuring a positive and lasting connection to the foundation.

3. Event Planning and Execution:

  • Conceptualize, plan and execute a diverse range of fundraising events, including galas, golf tournaments and third-party events.
  • Oversee all aspects of event logistics and execution, including building registration websites, budgeting, venue selection, catering, entertainment, event details, sponsorship outreach, auction solicitation and post-event evaluations.

4. Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborate with internal teams to communicate the impact of programs and initiatives to donors and stakeholders.
  • Represent the foundation at external events, conferences, and meetings to enhance awareness and build strategic partnerships.
  • Work with marketing to create and update collateral materials to support gift cultivation.
  • Create slide shows and other digital/multimedia presentations for individual and group fundraising, marketing and communications purposes.
  • Collaborate with BOD to set agendas, goals and overall direction for monthly meetings.
  • Communicate mission to prospective donors.

5. Financial Management:

  • Oversee the financial aspects of development, including budgeting, forecasting and tracking fundraising performance against targets.
  • Work with accounting team to generate accounts receivables and other collections reporting.
  • Work with Folds national and BOD to prepare and submit EOY wire.

6. Team Leadership:

  • Build and lead a high-performing development team, providing mentorship, guidance and professional development opportunities. (Dallas Development Officer, Fort Worth Development
  • Officer, Administrative Assistant)
  • Oversee and manage relationships outsourced by organization. (i.e. accounting firm, social media team, event execution teams, etc.)
  • Alongside Board Chairman and Executive Committee, oversee Dallas Board, Ft. Worth Board and both Dallas and Ft. Worth YP Boards.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that values teamwork.
  • Approve time off requests and expense reports.

 

Requirements of the Senior Director of Impact:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years of experience in a similar position highly preferred; PLUS the following job[1]related experience
