Senior Mongo Database Engineer

Job description Key Skills: Strong knowledge of Mongo Community Edition on Linux, MongoDB architecture experience with scripting automation Position Description: The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to learn new skills, embed with a team, solicit ideas, and feedback, and have good communication skills and on a day-to-day basis perform the following: • Automate and maintain MongoDB databases and infrastructure using Community Edition on Linux. • Attend all customer technical discussions/design/development meetings and provide technical inputs to further enhance the code quality/process. • Provide guidance/support to other junior/mid-level developers. • All other duties as assigned or directed. Basic Qualifications • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field. • Master's or Doctorate degree may substitute for required experience. • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust. Contract requirement. • 5+ years of experience with MongoDB Community Edition on Linux. • Excellent communication skills. Required Skills • Excellent communication and written skills. • Hands-on experience with Mongo Community edition. • Familiar with Mongo internals and how Mongo works outside of a GUI environment. • Designing, building, and automating the Infrastructure for MongoDB Community Edition. • Experience in using Python, Ansible, or similar methods to automate infrastructure tasks. • Experience with Shell Scripting. • Knowledge of MongoDB architecture. • Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills. Desired Skills • Experience with modern development software, tools, and methodologies. • Experience working on Agile projects and understanding Agile terminology. • Previous work in DevOps Environments. • Ansible Automation experience. • Git/Bitbucket, Confluence, JIRA experience • Experience on automating AWS ElastiCache provisioning, administration, and maintenance. • Experience working with AWS database services including RDS, EC2, S3 • Candidate should be able to work independently as well as in a team.
