Senior PHP Developer

Job Description
Senior PHP Developer with expertise in Laravel framework.  Will perform new front end and/or back end design/enhancements.  The ideal candidate must be a self starter that can identify and resolve issues autonomously and collaboratively at the appropriate times.

Responsibilities

• Develop and integrate  back-end and user-facing elements
• Build efficient, testable, and reusable PHP modules
• Solve complex performance problems and architectural challenges
• Integration of data storage solutions
• Take ownership of existing build and deployment pipelines
• Coordinate and communicate with remote team members in an Agile development environment

Critical Skills And Qualifications

• Experience with PHP Laravel web framework
• Understanding the fully synchronous behavior of PHP
• Understanding of MVC design patterns
• Experience working with VueJS framework
• Working knowledge of build tools including maven and npm
• Understanding fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
• Ability to leverage infrastructure-as-code tooling for repeatable configuration across dev, staging, and production environments
• Basic understanding of front-end technologies, such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3
• Understanding of object oriented programming
• Understanding of accessibility and security compliance
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
• Experience working in a cloud environment such as AWS

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

• Working knowledge of Docker, Jenkins or similar platforms/ programs
• User authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environments
• Integration of multiple data sources and databases into one system
• Familiarity with limitations of PHP as a platform and its workarounds
• Creating database schemas that represent and support business processes
• Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases and their declarative query language
