Job Description

Join our team as a Senior Project Manager within the Infrastructure Platform services department-specific PMO, focusing on managing SAP-related technology projects for our esteemed client in Washington, DC. As a pivotal member of the Information Technology department, you will employ industry best practices, project management tools, and methodologies to ensure the successful execution of projects within budget and schedule, leading to the seamless implementation and rollout of hardware and software solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee senior-level, intricate programs and projects spanning multiple departments at Amtrak, collaborating with various external vendors and sub-vendors as needed.Employ formal project management techniques to monitor and control projects, including managing schedules, mitigating risks, implementing change management, ensuring quality assurance, and overseeing budget preparation and reporting.Direct technical leads and project team members, along with consultants/contractors, to drive project success.Develop and maintain all necessary project documentation, including Project Charters, Management Plans, Requirements documents, Design documents, Test Plans, and Implementation Plans.Generate weekly program status reports and conduct project status meetings as required.Utilize MS Enterprise Project Management (EPM) and MS Project Professional 2010 to manage project schedules and report schedule and budget variances.Establish and maintain SharePoint project sites within the EPM system.Monitor project schedules, baselines, and estimates to ensure accuracy and report any variances.Identify and manage project risks, issues, and changes using established processes and templates.Create and distribute weekly status reports detailing project activities, achievements, issues, and action plans.Ensure timely completion of all activities necessary to meet operational readiness review requirements.Assist in the creation of Statements of Work (SOW) for Request for Proposals (RFPs) and evaluate vendor responses.Provide SOW for ongoing support services as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.Minimum seven years of hands-on Program and Project management experience, preferably with SAP Infrastructure-related projects.Extensive experience in technology management, analysis, and administration.Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.Proficiency in MS Project Office Professional, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.Experience with project management tools such as MS Project Server (EPM), Primavera, etc.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.PMP certification preferred.
