The essential function of the position within the organization is to provide experienced IT Project Management skills that will adhere to Fulton County IT PMO project management standards and methodologies for technology implementations while managing the planning, assignment, and execution of project tasks using Microsoft Project Online 2019 for 4 Projects.

We are seeking a highly capable Project Manager (PM) to support 4 projects. This candidate will be collaborating with functional & technical experts in the Law Department, Legislative Management Teams along with Procurement & Information Technology to implement a Case Management System, a Legislative and Agenda Management System as well as support 2 operational projects in support of a Mobile Device Management county-wide implementation (using Kanban) and Physical Security program (using Kanban).

To ensure success as a PM, they should demonstrate extensive knowledge of IT system

integration, migration to the cloud and the ability to implement Case Management and Legislative Management systems. Their business & technical expertise must include waterfall as well as Agile delivery methods.

Project Manager Responsibilities:

Deliver services in accordance with best practices for project delivery, executing any or

all the following:

Development of Project Charter

Development of project plan and schedule

Coordination and scheduling of project activities across customer and functional areas

Consultation on operational and infrastructure requirements, standards, and configurations

Facilitate project status meetings

Timely project status reporting

Address project issues with functional areas and management

Escalation of significant issues to customers and executive management

Manage project scope and deliverable requirements

Document changes to project scope and schedule

Facilitate and document project closeout

Project Manager Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, seven (7) years of information technology project

management experience

Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is mandatory

Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) or similar certification is preferred

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Visio and Microsoft Project is required

In-depth understanding of Waterfall and Agile Development methodology principles

Excellent and very persuasive oral and written communication and presentation skills.

Exemplary, advanced interpersonal, conflict resolution and leadership skills

Advanced knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures in managing technology projects

Experience managing projects with similar scope to initiatives within the County’s technology

environment

7+ years of customer interfacing experience – project oversight, customer presentation.

Exceptional interpersonal and collaboration skills.

An overall general understanding of large IT operating environments, Change Control, Desktop

Support, Service Desks, Application Development, Release Management, Networks, Storage,

Data Centers.

Understands the concepts, best practices, and execution of Business Analysis and Project

Management principles.

Skills in process mapping, requirements definition, design documentation and system

implementation including using Visio and Adobe.

Excellent organizational and people management skills. Strong understanding of how to

manage change.

Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Energetic, action-oriented, positive approach to problem solving and ability to balance multiple

projects concurrently.

Good facilitation and presentation skills.
