Senior Project Manager

Description:

The Global Technologies Services PMO is searching for a seasoned contract Senior Project Manager who has experience managing medium to large scale projects in a complex environment. The role will vary and can include management of multiple critical workstreams on a major initiative, management of multiple medium projects concurrently, or management of a single large project. This is a front-line, hands-on, role expected to be involved in project details and driving the team to achieve the results required to deliver the project and meet management expectations.
PROFESSIONAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s Degree required in MIS, Computer Science, related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 7 years of experience of managing IT projects in large global organizations.
• Experience with managing cloud migration projects as part of a data-center exit program.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong client facing skills, including proven ability to clearly and effectively communicate to a
variety of business and technical audiences, from front-line staff to executive management.
• Thorough knowledge and proficiency in project management methodologies and tools
• Solid understanding of application development lifecycles; experience with waterfall and
agile methodologies.
• Demonstrated ability to develop reliable project timelines and deliver against established
timelines.
• Experience creating high quality project plans using Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or similar
project management tools.
• Solid skills in project planning and control, scope management, resource management, issue
and risk management, quality management, change management, and vendor management.
• Driven to deliver results and pushes self and team to achieve results despite obstacles.
• Metrics-oriented; defines & creates metrics, uses those metrics to inform project actions.
• Curiosity to look past the surface for corroborating evidence, root causes, or hidden issues.
• Demonstrated strong analytical, problem solving and facilitation / organizational skills.
• Experience in effectively managing an onshore/offshore implementation model.
• Strong SmartSheet & Microsoft Project skills including resource management within these
applications.
• Strong Excel & PowerPoint skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) or other project management certification.
• MBA, Master of Project Management, or similar advanced degree.
• Experience with Jira and Confluence.
• Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Microsoft Azure, and Amazon Web
Services (AWS).
