Senior Software Engineer, eCommerce

The Opportunity:

Sephora Engineering division is looking for a passionate, result-oriented, inventive Senior Software Engineer to support Sephora’s digital eCommerce platform.

Imagine being part of a team that is at handling one of the largest client traffic channels at Sephora. As an Engineer, you have the opportunity to develop applications that impact millions of clients in both North America & Canada. Your focus is going to be on design and development of the core eCommerce APIs

You will also have an opportunity to take on technology challenges that will revolutionize technology and experience in the web development areas. You will have the opportunity to analyze the big picture and perform tactical decision-making that supports the strategic direction of Sephora, IT and the Engineering team.  They will exercise these responsibilities in compliance with Sephora policies and standards along with industry best practices.

Your role at Sephora… As our Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for the technical design, development and delivery of complex features and enhancement of the Sephora.com APIs.  Your responsibilities include

• Hands-on develop of Java-based API
• Participate in sprint releases with close zero tolerance on delivery slippages
• Work across the entire tech stack from enterprise applications services to database
• Establish principles and best practice guidelines used to design and implement enterprise-class solutions
• Contribute to the overall system design, architecture, security, scalability, reliability, and performance of the sephora.com and the commerce APIs

We would love to hear from you if…

• 8+ years overall experience in information systems and technology
• Experience in Enterprise applications development and solution design
• 5+ years of experience in developing web applications and 3+ years of experience in API developments
• Working experience with Oracle ATG eCommerce Suite / Commerce Tools / Salesforce eCommerce Suites
• Experience in launching and enhancements, to the production .com application
• Knowledge of design patterns MVC, MVP& other design patterns
• Working knowledge in database Oracle / MS SQL / No-Sql
• Knowledge of application monitoring solutions (Splunk / New Relic / Nagios) 
• Understanding of Restful API’s. Ability to Write and Call a Restful API
• Experience in building service-oriented applications
• Experience in managing applications hosted in the cloud
• Ability to review the code and work with the engineers to resolve the technical issues
