Senior System Engineer

Job Description:

· To strengthen our Technology & Infrastructure department, we are looking for a Senior System Engineer.

· The duties of a Sr. Linux System Engineer include designing, installing, maintaining, and
· optimizing the ICT infrastructure and the ICT hybrid Datacenter services of the Client’s side that are crucial to support business operations and 24/7 client operations.
· This position reports to the Senior Product Manager of Linux

What you will realize with us:

· Design, installation, maintenance, and improvement of the ICT infrastructure and the Datacenter
· Installs software, new applications, or improvements/changes to existing applications.
· Investigate, elaborate, and install possible optimizations and structural improvements.
· Follows up on issues, and manages and implements the solutions.
· Monitors the availability, performance, and capacity used of the
· environments and for drawing up capacity planning. In doing so, he/she makes

· informed decisions on where and how to optimize the workloads.
· be implemented.
· Documents and establishes procedures for installation, configuration, and management.
· Test existing procedures, adjust them if necessary, or establish new ones.
· Continuously takes care of, monitors, and optimizes the security of the ICT infrastructure, in
· Collaboration with the security managers.
· Follow up on the agreements with the customers for the Linux infrastructure ICT services.
· You are the point of contact for the Linux and Middleware migration project
· As such, you are an expert in troubleshooting upgrade-related issues and
· Offering structural solutions.
· Manage the Linux infrastructure according to the agreed service levels (SLAs).
· Closely monitor the proper functioning of the monitoring and user experience.
· Respect for ITIL/Change Process: Plan maintenance activities according to the specified "rollout requests" and exclude unagreed production impact.
· Advising the data center manager on future infrastructure investments, to keep production running for future needs.
· To be a diplomatic link between the various ICT stakeholders and the team.
· Support in the development and implementation of innovation projects
· Gives advice on renewal projects and migrations and is able to independently (migration) projects to a successful conclusion.
· Is part of project teams as an ICT infrastructure and integration specialist.
· Ensures compliance with operational requirements.
· Performs operational testing.
· Business Support Assists colleagues from ICT and other departments, both in 24/7 operational ICT management and in the implementation of projects.
· Takes the 2nd-line problem follow-up for his/her account.
· Delivers efficient and quality support to end-users and customers.
· Follow-up of developments in the field of ICT technology and airport development
· Keeps own knowledge in the field of ICT technology and (airport) business up-to-date by attending specific training courses and workshops or seminars.
· Thinks along with the team leader and advises on the ICT strategy to support the critical success factors, needs, and challenges of our environment.

What undercuts you:

· Knowledge level Bachelor or equivalent through experience
· Minimum 5 years of relevant experience with Linux
· General knowledge of business processes
· Experience with project follow-up and management
· Drive, flexibility, and broad ICT baggage underpin your customer and solution orientation
· In-depth knowledge of fundamental ICT principles, architecture, and applied systems in modern
· Data centers include:
· ICT infrastructure architecture: high-availability
· Ansible scripting, Redhat, Redhat Satelite, automation, Nginx, JBoss, middleware
· You have experience with OS (side-by-side/in place) and Redhat-based upgrades
· You have a thorough knowledge of managing and configuring Linux environments
· (SAN, NAS, VMWare, basic networking (VLAN’s, default gateway), …)
· ICT infrastructure security
· Good knowledge of git, CICD, and orchestration
· Nice to have: MariaDB experience, experience with monitoring solutions (perf metrics, logs,
· alerts, ...), Containerization, Identity management, authentication, and authorization: (Azure)
· Active Directory, GPO
· Fundamental network skills, technology for secure data connections: VLAN, Firewall

· Is familiar with the process design according to ITIL and has experience with project implementation.
· You have good verbal and written communication skills, good
· Organizational skills and you can communicate fluently with others.
