Senior Test Engineer(Java testing)

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Java Tester to join our dynamic Quality Assurance (QA) team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software testing, with a particular focus on Java-based applications and technologies. As a Java Tester, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our Java applications through rigorous manual and automated testing.

Key Responsibilities:

Test Planning & Design:

Collaborate with the development and QA teams to define and document test plans, test cases, and test strategies for Java-based applications.
Review requirements and specifications to ensure clear understanding and comprehensive test coverage.

Manual & Automated Testing:

Perform manual testing for complex Java applications and system integrations.
Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Java-based testing frameworks such as JUnit, TestNG, or Selenium WebDriver.
Execute test cases, track defects, and ensure proper defect lifecycle management.
Bug Tracking & Reporting:
Identify, document, and track defects in a clear and reproducible manner using tools like JIRA or Bugzilla.
Provide detailed, actionable reports and regular updates on test progress, test results, and defect status.

Performance Testing:

Conduct performance and load testing using tools like JMeter or LoadRunner to ensure the application performs well under various conditions.
Regression & Integration Testing:
Ensure that the application remains functional after updates or changes by performing regression and integration tests.

Collaboration & Communication:

Work closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure test coverage aligns with product requirements and priorities.

Communicate effectively to identify and resolve issues, and assist in the continuous improvement of testing practices.

Continuous Improvement:

Proactively suggest improvements to the testing process, test cases, and test automation strategies.
Keep up-to-date with the latest testing tools, frameworks, and best practices in Java development and QA.

Requirements:

Education:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.

Experience:

3+ years of experience in software testing with a strong focus on Java-based applications.
Hands-on experience with Java-based testing frameworks such as JUnit, TestNG, and Selenium.
Experience in writing and executing SQL queries for data validation.

Technical Skills:

Strong knowledge of Java programming language and its libraries.
Experience with test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium WebDriver, Appium, JUnit, TestNG).
Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and integration tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.
Understanding of web services testing (REST/SOAP) using tools like Postman or SoapUI.
Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner) is a plus.

Desirable Skills (Optional):

Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and testing in cloud environments.
Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker.
