General Description

The ServiceNow Developer I is an entry-level position responsible for assisting in the design, development, and maintenance of the ServiceNow platform within the organization. The candidate will work under the supervision of senior developers and will be involved in building and modifying applications, workflows, and integrations to support business needs. This role provides an excellent opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute to the organization's digital transformation initiatives.

Tasks, Duties, Functions

Development and Maintenance:

 

  • Assist in the development of business rules, client scripts, UI actions, UI policies, workflows, and other ServiceNow configurations.
  • Support the maintenance and enhancement of existing ServiceNow applications.

     

Testing And Deployment

 

  • Perform unit testing of developed solutions.
  • Assist in deploying updates and new configurations to the production environment following the company's change management processes.

     

Documentation

 

  • Document all development and maintenance work to ensure knowledge transfer and system maintainability.
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of user guides and training materials.

     

Support

 

  • Provide basic support for the ServiceNow platform, resolving incident tickets and fulfilling service requests.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving issues reported by end-users.

     

Collaboration

 

  • Collaborate with team members, process owners, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and achieve project goals.
  • Attend and participate in team meetings and collaborative planning activities.

     

Continuous Improvement

 

  • Participate in training and educational opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills.
  • Contribute ideas and feedback for process and system improvements.

     

Compliance

 

  • Adhere to the organization's IT policies, procedures, and standards.

     

PHYSICAL SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND EXERTION UTILIZED IN THE PERFORMANCE OF THESE TASK:

 

  • Effective oral and written communication skills required to interpret, resolve, and document business or technical.
  • Must possess sufficient manual dexterity to skillfully operate applicable computer hardware, a variety of hand tools and standard office equipment.
  • Must be able to self-prioritize work in a manner that maintains deliverable targets.

Qualifications

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

EXPERIENCE: 0-2 years of experience with ServiceNow or other ITSM platforms. Prior internship or co-op experience in a similar role is a plus. ServiceNow Certified System Administrator certification is preferred

Knowledge / Skills

 

  • Basic understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM) processes.
  • Basic knowledge in web development technologies like JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
  • Strong desire to grow within the ServiceNow development career path.

     

Physical Requirements

 

  • Prolonged sitting throughout the workday to accomplish tasks.
  • Availability for emergencies and on call duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, as needed.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Corrected vision in the normal range required to configure, test, and troubleshoot network server hardware and data.
  • Hearing within normal range.
  • Must possess sufficient manual dexterity to skillfully operate applicable computer hardware, a variety of hand tools and standard office equipment.
  • May work additional work hours to accomplish tasks.

     

Licenses / Certifications

ServiceNow Certified System Administrator certification is preferred.
