Description

As a ServiceNow Discovery and CMDB Specialist, you will be responsible for implementing and managing the ServiceNow Discovery and Configuration Management Database (CMDB) functionalities.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to understand their discovery and CMDB requirements and translate them into ServiceNow configurations.
  • Configure and manage the ServiceNow Discovery tool to identify and collect configuration items (CIs) across the IT infrastructure.
  • Implement and maintain the ServiceNow CMDB, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information about CIs.
  • Define and enforce data governance policies and processes for the CMDB to ensure data integrity and quality.
  • Develop and maintain discovery patterns and probes to capture relevant information from diverse IT resources.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve data synchronization and reconciliation issues within the CMDB.
  • Customize ServiceNow using JavaScript, Angular, and other web technologies to enhance the discovery and CMDB capabilities.
  • Integrate ServiceNow with external systems through REST API, SOAP API, and other integration methods.
  • Monitor the discovery and CMDB processes to identify and rectify any performance or data quality issues.
  • Provide guidance and training to users on discovery and CMDB processes and best practices.
  • Stay updated with the latest ServiceNow features and enhancements related to discovery and CMDB, recommending and implementing improvements to optimize the process.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a ServiceNow Discovery and CMDB Specialist, working on discovery and CMDB projects and configuring the ServiceNow platform.
  • Strong knowledge of discovery methodologies, protocols, and best practices.
  • Familiarity with data modeling and database management concepts.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, Angular, and web technologies for customization and enhancement purposes.
  • Experience with integrating ServiceNow with external systems using REST API, SOAP API, and other methods.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve discovery and CMDB-related issues.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with clients and cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills:

  • ServiceNow certifications such as Certified Implementation Specialist or Certified Application Developer.
  • Experience with other ServiceNow modules such as GRC, HAM, SAM, APM, and SPM.
  • Familiarity with NoSQL databases and their usage in ServiceNow.
  • Experience with ITOM, SCCM, JAMF, or other related tools and technologies.
