Position Summary
Client's Teams/SharePoint Engineer is responsible for designing, configuring, analyzing, and delivering solutions on the Microsoft Teams and SharePoint platforms. This includes but is not limited to migrating COTA from Cisco WebEx to Microsoft Teams, creating new SharePoint Collaboration sites for various departments at client, developing and implementing best practices, while also monitoring these products to improve their performance, usability, and efficiency. This will involve governance, prototyping, solutioning, blueprints, road- mapping, technical delivery and syndication with multiple stakeholders and peer technical groups through detailed documentation and hands-on implementation. This multifaceted position demands a strategic mindset, strong technical expertise, and effective leadership to contribute to Client's mission of fostering a productive digital workspace.
Position Responsibilities
Serve as the primary point of contact for all Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online and related issues and collaborate with other IT teams to integrate them with other systems and platforms.
Design and implement policies in Teams and SharePoint based on business needs and provide end-user training and support.
Perform regular maintenance and updates to ensure optimal performance and troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to the platform.
Implementation of Teams Voice as primary communications platform.
Work cross-departmentally to align Teams and SharePoint information management, records retention, data backup and recovery solutions and compliance capabilities with business needs and policies.
Properly establish controls surrounding user setup, access and permission designations optimizing security to protect company information. Special focus on document libraries and settings.
Performing maintenance of the SharePoint platform, servers, and the client’s intranet
Troubleshoot and resolve SharePoint issues and any sub-optimal configurations.
Provide guidance, best practice recommendations and training for utilizing the platforms.
Develop and maintain documentation for all Microsoft Teams and SharePoint Online related processes and procedures.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent applied experience.
8-10 years of experience in software development or systems configuration.
3-5 years of experience with Microsoft Teams and SharePoint configuration and administration.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Significant experience working with Microsoft Teams and SharePoint Online and associated technologies in an Administrator role.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and Azure (Policies, License Management, Monitoring, Security implementations/Hardening…)
Experience with Microsoft Teams and SharePoint Online administration and customization.
Experience with integrating Microsoft Teams and SharePoint Online with other systems and platforms.
Experience with migrating from various file-sharing solutions (Windows file server, DropBox, Google Drive, etc.) to SharePoint and Microsoft Teams
Experience integrating Team’s with other unified communications systems (chat, media, video, voice)
Experience with Teams Phone System.
Experience with various end user device Polycom Handsets and various video
conferencing smartboards.
Experience deploying and configuring Team’s audio, video and telephony solutions as well as integration with Exchange/Office 365 Unified Messaging.
Understanding of the new SharePoint Online security architecture, new standards for site architecture (modern sites and modern hub sites), and administration levels based on users’ role and responsibility.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
