As aSoftware Developer, you'll play an important role in helping us offer customized, self-funded insurance options to our clients and members.

The Software Developer is responsible for reviewing, coding, testing, and deploying software applications that meet the needs of our organization and clients. This role involves working closely with product owners, team members, and stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into high-quality, efficient, and scalable software solutions. This will require priority management and task-shifting.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate and Understand Requirements:
  • Work closely with product owners and development team members to understand business process needs and translate them into clear technical requirements.


Develop and Maintain Applications

  • Develop, maintain, and refactor in-house data extraction and transformation console applications.
  • Create and enhance web-based workflow management utilities.


Team Collaboration and Standards:

  • Foster a collaborative team environment.
  • Contribute to the establishment and maintenance of software development standards.
  • Participate in code reviews and manage version control effectively.


Technical Resource and Support:

  • Serve as a technical resource for server-based third-party applications within the scope of the development team.
  • Ensure smooth operations and provide troubleshooting as needed.


Performance Monitoring:

  • Monitor daily performance events.
  • Address any issues promptly to ensure optimal functionality.


Experience:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of hands-on experience in software development.


Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in C#, SQL (Microsoft or PostgreSQL), and Visual Studio.
  • Experience with Blazor or ReactJS is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
  • Web development skills (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Angular, Vue.js).
  • Proficiency in automated testing frameworks.


Soft Skills:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of Agile or Scrum methodologies


Industry Knowledge:

  • Previous experience in healthcare, employee benefits, or EDI is preferred, particularly in a B2B and B2C environment.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and standards (e.g., HIPAA, ACA).
  • Understanding of data security best practices.


Other:

  • Understanding of DevOps principles and related tools.
  • Skills in optimizing application performance and scalability.


Education:
Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
