Software Engineer

JOB SUMMARY:
Join our dynamic development team as an Observability Software Engineer focusing on designing and delivering high-quality software solutions. In this role, you'll work closely with product teams and analysts to design systems, application software, and provide mentorship to junior team members. Your expertise in Go or Java, along with a strong understanding of REST APIs and microservices, will play a pivotal role in developing highly available real-time distributed data API systems.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design and support development of APIs for log collection & analysis, operational metrics, distributed tracing, and secrets management.
• Contribute to the architecture of container build standards and automation, plus continuous delivery.
• Engage in configuration repository and management along with developing PUBSUB systems.
• Document technical processes and solutions as needed.
• Participate actively in Agile scrum teams to meet project deadlines.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Proficiency in Java or Go with at least 5 years of experience.
• Solid grasp of network observability, telemetry (SNMP, gNMI, RESTful APIs).
• Experienced in microservices architectures and building RESTful APIs.

Preferred Industry Experience:

• Prior experience or strong knowledge of Observability/Telemetry systems.

This role is a pivotal addition to our team at REDWOOD CITY, offering a blend of remote and office work requiring 1-2 days on-site weekly. The selected candidate will embark on a 4-month project with potential for extension or conversion based on performance.
