SOFTWARE ENGINEER

JOB DESCRIPTION
We currently have an opening for a Software Engineer in the Process Control Division, located at the Mon Valley Works. This role could cover any of our facilities including Edgar Thomson Works, Irvin Works, or Clairton Works. As an integral part of this highly skilled, innovative team, you will play a significant role in supporting our digital transformation and system modernization strategy while providing critical services to our production operations. The successful candidate will be part of a team responsible for the design, development, testing and implementation of digital solutions and process control systems.
OVERALL EXPERIENCE 7YRS
Interview: Initial Teams, then onsite for in depth technical
Location: Irvin Works, West Mifflin
Hours: Can start between 7 am and 9 am and work 8 hours
Can have Associates Degree plus 5 years of experience or Bachelor’s Degree plus 1-2 years of experience
Possible on call rotation after training
Fast paced, industrial environment – must be able to transition and pick up new technology quickly
Will need PPE at their expense
Candidate should be a strong software engineer and programmer with Object-Oriented Programming experience
C#, Python, Visual Studio, R.
SQL, Tableau and Oracle are a plus.
Comfortable with both Linux and Microsoft. Some UNIX.
Prefer someone with manufacturing and automation background- they will get top priority
