Software Engineer

Job Description:

Pay Range $65.68hr - $75.53hr

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to and support our digital transformation.
• Contribute to our digital transformation by participating in the design, development, configuration, and deployment of digital solutions.
• Participate in, and lead high impact projects that provide financial benefits and result in improvements to safety, quality, and production yield.
• Work closely with the operations teams to understand requirements and identify improvement opportunities; translate into project specifications, including work estimates and forecasted benefits.
• Design and maintain highly available and error resistant applications and systems that support Edgar Thomson Operations.
• Play a key role in the new design and maintenance of modern supervisory systems.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Computer Engineering, or related field.
• Software Engineer / Developer with minimum of 1-2 years of experience developing in Java, C, C#, R, and Python.
• Associates Degree + 5 years of experience or Bachelor’s Degree + 1-2 years of experience required.
• Knowledge of the Visual Studio IDE. Comfortable with both Linux/Unix and Windows environments.
• Development experience on PTC Thingworx IoT platform plus.
• Experience with Tableau is a plus.
• Experience with SQL and Oracle is a plus.
• Experience with SCADA and HMI programming is a plus.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment desired.
• Effective oral and verbal communication, team player.
• Initiative to generate improvement ideas.
• Motivation to maintain a high level of productivity and self-direction.
• Desire to learn established systems for purposes of modernization and support.

Technical Skills:

• Java, C, C#, R, and/or Python, Visual Studio, Linux and Windows, Tableau, SQL, Oracle.
