Position Overview: As a SolidWorks Administrator, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and optimizing our Computer-Aided Design (CAD) systems, with a primary focus on SolidWorks and Enterprise PDM (Product Data Management). The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in CAD administration, a deep understanding of SolidWorks software, and a proven ability to enhance workflow efficiency through effective system management.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the SolidWorks environment, ensuring software configurations are optimized for the organization's needs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve SolidWorks-related issues, collaborating with IT and engineering teams as necessary.
- Stay current on SolidWorks updates and advancements, implementing new features and tools to improve design processes.
- Administer and maintain the Enterprise PDM system to ensure effective data management, version control, and collaboration among design teams.
- Implement and enforce data management best practices to enhance overall productivity.
- Provide user training and support for Enterprise PDM functionalities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, IT, and manufacturing, to understand and address CAD-related requirements.
- Act as a liaison between users and software vendors, facilitating communication and issue resolution.
- Customize and develop scripts, templates, and automation tools to streamline design processes.
- Collaborate with software developers to create custom solutions that align with the organization's CAD requirements.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for CAD and PDM processes, standards, and best practices.
- Conduct training sessions for users to ensure efficient utilization of CAD tools and systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a CAD Administrator, with a focus on SolidWorks and Enterprise PDM.
- Strong knowledge of CAD software, customization, and automation.
- Experience with system integration and data migration.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills:
- SolidWorks Certification.
- Experience with other CAD software and PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) systems.
- Programming skills (e.g., VB.NET, C#) for customization and automation.
