Splunk Engineer

We have an immediate long-term opportunity with one of our prime clients for a position of Splunk Engineer to work in Plano, TX on Hybrid basis.

Skillset:

• Splunk expert – need strong data-leaning Splunk SMEs that have deep hands-on experience in data ingestion, tooling configuration, integration, & organized analysis/documentation skills
• Splunk SPL
• Preferred experience in some sort of scripting with Golang or Python

What is the Business Need? Why is this open? 300 TB of data are not searched and need to establish a pattern to find non standard logs which are already in Splunk

Are there projects/initiatives surrounding this position? Assess where there are challenges/risk- identify the right SME that field audit requests

Top 3 requirements: 

• Splunk expert in understanding data storage
• Experience working across various structured and unstructured data: JSON, CSV files, some raw, unstructured datasets, some CloudWatch files
• SPL expert (Data filtering, index commands, file based filtering)

Must Have:

• Splunk Engineering background
• Understanding of data storage within Splunk
• Experience working across various data formats (JSON, CSV, etc.)
• SPL (data filtering, index commands, file-based filtering)
• Data quality
• Documentation
• Communication

 
Nice to Have:

• Scripting (Golang)
• AWS
