SQL Database Administrator

Skill requirements:

• Solid understanding of database design principals
• Minimum 5 year experience with PostgreSQL 8.3, 8.4, 9.0
• Good understanding of query execution plans
• Good SQL scripts skill including SPs, PSQL scripting
• Good performance tuning skills
• Ability to proactively identify, troubleshoot and resolve live database systems issues.
• Knowledge of disaster recovery principles and practices, including planning, testing, backup/restore
• Experience in replication, is a plus
• Hands-on experience on database administration, backup recovery and troubleshooting in co-location environments
• Expertise in Oracle Backup & Recovery.  
• Experience in Database Cloning or Refresh.
• Analyze requirements from developers and architects for data loads/migrations, and build PL/SQL procedures to satisfy requests
• Mentor team members on DBA tasks and new technologies
• Manage the database portion of application releases.
• Process knowledge on Incident Management & Change management
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Be flexible and willing to work in shifts.
• Problem-solving skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-sensitive environment

MYSQL DBA

               JD

• 6 to 9 years of experience on MySQL database administration.
• Good Expertise in MySQL internals, configuration, and replication strategies and upgradation/Migration is MANDATORY

ü Experience migrating between database technologies, especially integrating with third-party replication systems such as Tungsten.

ü Working experience in migrating MySQL Fabric Replication Shards to NDB Cluster 7.4 is MANDATORY

ü Working experience in NDB Clusters is MANDATORY

• Should understand MySQL development.
• Expertise in upgrading and migrating databases to Cloud
• Hands on experience on Performance Tuning and Query Optimization.
• Should have good understanding on Indexing, Partitions, and different storage engines available under MySQL.
• Hands on experience in setting up replication and different configuration parameters available in MySQL.
• Good exposure working with Linux/Unix environment.
• Capable of supporting and implementing technology projects as the primary DBA in support of business initiatives
• Provide 24x7 production support.
• Ability to create and maintain positive and professional business relationships with both internal associates and external customers
