SQL Database Engineer

Job Title: SQL Database Engineer-Hybrid role
Location: Troy MI - Make sure to find near by locals OR near by states
Duration: Contract OR contract to hire

Required Experience (must have)

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience as a SQL Database Engineer.
• MUST have experience handling very large amounts of data.
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with various database management systems (SQL Server).
• Ability to design, develop, and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, and scripts.
• Strong data engineering capabilities, including data pipeline construction and optimization.
• Proficiency in creating and managing SSIS packages for ETL processes and data integration.
• Proven database administrative skills, including performance tuning, backup/recovery, and security management.
• Proficiency in implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines in Azure for automated deployment of database changes.
• Ability to managing and integrate AWS services (EC2 and S3) with databases for optimized performance and storage solutions.
• Strong automated testing experience.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Helpful Experience (nice to have)

• TFS, Azure DevOps, or Jira project management/requirements management
• Git or TFVC version control
• Scrum and DevOps experience
• Octopus
