Expectations For This Role

 

  • Good understand of MSSQL Clienthitecture and internals
  • Strong with basics
  • Expert in performance tuning and query optimization have good experience working on large databases (5TB 20 TB)
  • Good experience in HA/DR solutions like Always ON, Replication and clustering
  • Good knowledge and experience in TSQL scripting
  • Automation experience with PowerShell / TSQL / Python....
  • SQL Server development background will be an added advantage

     

Minimum 12+ years Experience

 

  • At least 5+ years of SQL DBA experience covering implementation, production support and project work. At least 4+ years of exposure as L3/SME support role.
  • Knowledge and Understanding of ITIL process
  • In client facing role(s) for at least 3 years.
  • On call support for at least 3 years.

     

Skills

Excellent Documentations skills in MS SharePoint 2010 /2013, Confluence.

Mandatory skills - SQL Server administration required skills

 

  • Knowledge on AWS Cloud services like RDS, S3, Redshift etc
  • MySQL/PostgresSQL knowledge / experience.
  • Linux Knowledge.
  • Experience with Clienture
  • Experience with Snow Flake
  • Experience in PowerBI

     

Certifications Desired

" MS certifications on MSSQL latest versions or AWS/Clienture

Responsibility

 

  • Ability to think about a problem, identify what we have and implement solutions to solve the problem independently
  • Work with onsite client team / Application owners in US / UK to Migrate Applications, Database building and Decommissioning
  • Ability to take lead on some projects and works as part of a team (follow another leader on others)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to think in and out of the box. Come up with service improvement ideas and innovative solutions.
  • Self-motivated, conscientious, dedicated individual who works equally well independently or as a member of a team
  • Must be willing to take responsibility and ownership instead of waiting to be assigned work
  • The candidate must be willing to provide On-call and weekend support for SQL and MYSQL, the support is rotated among DBA's in US and India
  • Enable and support the team in resolving day-to-day production issues, application upgrades and patches, performance analysis, disaster recovery implementation, capacity planning and other activities as may be necessary.
  • Work on Change implementations during UK, US business hours & weekends as per change management process
  • Documentation & Operational performance reporting
  • Own Service Improvements
  • Execute on demand IT projects
  • Drive compliance to client and organization processes and policies
  • Ensure Quality of deliverables
