Required Experience

Core SQL DBA Administrator

Logical and Physical DBA expertise.

Expert In handing day to day DBA tasks On-Prem and Azure cloud - DB backup, DB health check, DB restore, DB monitoring, reporting, New database installation, configuration

Expert in Databases refresh, Migration (On-Prem and Azure Cloud), DB and application Performance issues, SQL blocking, locking, Logs review

Knowledge on Scripting (PowerShell, SQL).

Good Understanding on Process (Change, Incident, SR, Problem management) for day to day work handling.

Database performance tuning, Health check databases, Capacity management/planning, Inventory management, Patching and Vulnerability management.

Database Software installation, Patching, Maintenance and tuning;

Database version Upgrades and associated planning and tasks

Physical data file definition, placement and optimization;

Coordinating and scheduling with Application owners and subsequently performing installation of release Upgrades of DBMS Software;

Completing Database Instance Upgrades, shutdowns, and restarts;

Creating and decommissioning Database Instances and catalogs;*

Conducting stress testing procedures as part of the normal physical Database administration testing process;

Providing storage Capacity management of DBMS Services for trend analysis and Capacity Planning;

Planning, implementing and performing Instance and catalog Backup, DR, archive and recovery processes and procedures to meet Customer’s business requirements; and

Supporting design and implementation of multiple production and test *DBMS;

Configuring, allocating and managing Database storage;

Installing, configuring and supporting Database replication and clustering technologies and strategies;*

Implementing consistent Configurations across all Environments;

Evaluating and recommending new tools and processes to improve delivery time or efficiency of DBA tasks;

Creating and maintaining System-level Database objects, promoting, duplicating or moving as necessary between physical structures;

Maintaining Database administration IDs, secure shell encryption (“SSH”) and encryption keys within the DBMS and OS according to the Policies and Procedures Manual;

Conducting risk and impact analysis and other activities in support of the Change

Debugging Database System Problems and applying fixes if necessary;*

Creating Database schemas

Creating, altering, and removing Database security user IDs, groups, and roles and performing periodic security health in compliance with Customer’s Policies and Procedures Manual and industry best practices

Education

Any Graduate
