Responsibilities

  • Understanding key sources of data and their impacts to the business at a detailed, granular level
  • Creating analytical datasets through transformational queries and integrations that are both purposeful and performant, suitable for use in automations, and in some instances in a near-real-time demand scenario
  • Building interactive dashboards and reports that are thoughtfully designed, easily consumed, aesthetically pleasing, and actionable for both desktop and mobile formats
  • Delivering analyses, both static and dynamic (i.e., presentations and reports) in order to communicate concepts, foster understanding, drive adoption, and gain trust in the data
  • Maintaining a habit of frequent engagement with business stakeholders and key information consumers, to develop a deep understanding of the “what, why, how, and when” behind every analysis request, as well as seeking feedback post-delivery

Qualifications

  • 5+ recent years of data engineering experience on backend systems through Microsoft SQL Server
  • Proficiency in producing data oriented around measures and dimensions
  • Advanced proficiency with joins and grouping, in respect to data granularity
  • Output validation and troubleshooting
  • Performance tuning
  • 5+ recent years of data integrations experience using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) for ETL
  • 3+ recent years of dynamic report creation experience using Tableau Demonstrated ability to optimize performance of queries according to SQL best practices
  • 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Excel as both a data endpoint and analysis workspace

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • Salesforce Power BI, SSRS and/or SSAS
