Job Description:
Design, engineer, and manage the organization's z/VM and zLinux ]infrastructure and operational platforms
Design, implement and enable IaaS and PaaS services for the Optum business community
Must understand functional and non-functional requirements to ensure they can be achieved through system design and engineering to meet the needs of the customers
Work closely with business and technology stakeholders to:
Develop roadmaps for their respective technology portfolios
Resolve cross-system and domain dependencies
Ensure effective integration among the services offered to the end customer
Ensure efficient usage of infrastructure and operational platforms
Monitor technological advancements and industry trends to influence company standards and ensure that solutions are continuously improved and maintained through product management practices, including recommendations to invest in a solution or retirement of redundant or out-of-date systems
Understand the interactions between systems, the applications and services hosted, and evaluate the impact of changes and additions
Perform analysis on existing systems to ensure performance and reliability, enhance scalability, meet security requirements, and interoperable and maintainable technology portfolio
Required skills:
Manage the z/VM and zLinux infrastructure/operational platforms to ensure optimal performance and availability
Respond to and resolve infrastructure incidents
Design and build solutions to support business systems
Analyze, Design, Build, and implement the migration from the z/VM and zLinux platform to the LinuxOne KVM platform
Serve as a recognized expert in the following areas - Provide guidance, troubleshooting and answers complex questions related to these areas:
Scope, Size & Complexity of work along with the identification of “blast radius/ impact”
Infrastructure Platform Management:
Apply understanding of infrastructure/operational platform to support/optimize business applications/systems
Ensure platform performance/availability
Write, debug and test automation code
Engineer foundational components for IaaS & PaaS
Design and engineer infrastructure systems in support of the business systems
Serve as a recognized expert in the following areas
Engineering Principles
Design, build, test and adapt solutions that optimize environment and meet evolving needs of customers and business, leveraging and anticipating modern technologies
Support continuous integration; continuous delivery environment (CICD)
Focus on customer and desired business outcomes in the design and build of solutions

Consider integrations and impacts on other systems in deployment of solutions
