Role Description

The Staff Electrical Engineer will be responsible for creating and leading tasks related to electrical design and quality control, ensuring the consistent performance of our health monitoring devices. A passion for product development is essential to succeed in this role.

 Key Responsibilities:

Initial focus will be in leading quality control measures to ensure consistent device performance

Design a quality system process / test fixtures for optimization and consistent performance of our devices

Involvement in projects at all stages, from crafting design concepts through manufacturing with emphasis on quality

Follow medical device firmware design controls, including design documentation and writing and executing verification test protocols

Provide expertise in concept brainstorming for test plans and protocols

Manage version control system such has GitLab or GitHub

Test and troubleshoot new and existing electrical designs

Work with a third-party firm to review and approve specifications

Guide third-party standards testing, such as IEC 60601 for PEMs and understand IEC 62304 requirements

Skills/Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, advance degree a plus

Minimum 5-7 years of firmware development experience with embedded products, specifically ARM based microcontrollers

Experience with schematic review and troubleshooting electrical circuits

Experience in development using C/C++ for microcontrollers, specifically Infineon/Cypress (PSOC series), Microchip (SAM series), Nordic (nRF52/53 series), etc.

Experience serving as a technical lead developing embedded systems for new product development projects Expertise in electrical design with knowledge of lasers, optics, LEDs, and spectroscopy within a biological tissue context

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Experience leading firmware development for ARM based microcontrollers, including coordinating and leading communications with software contractors

Experience in the medical device technology and industry within a regulatory environment

Proficient in software lifecycle management, able to setup and maintain version control systems

Experience developing BLE connected devices that communicate with mobile devices

Proficient in realizing hardware solutions and integrating them with a microcontroller

Capable of collecting, analyzing, and interpreting digital signal processing data

Familiar in streaming analytics, with the ability to manage real-time sensor data and provide actionable feedback

Familiar with Machine Learning methodologies

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
