Essential Skills/Abilities:

  • Work UK hours
  • Demonstrates exceptional communication skills
  • Have deep understanding of Dell storage and SAN technologies and tooling. Specifically around technologies such as Dell PowerMax & PowerStore arrays, and Brocade & Cisco MDS FC switches.
  • Have experience of x86 technologies such as Dell/IBM x86 servers, VMware and/or Nutanix
  • Has some experience of shell scripting or creating Ansible playbooks to deliver infrastructure as code.
  • Has experience of defining, designing, implementing and operationalising the Compute/Platform Infrastructure used within public and/or private cloud environments. Has acted as the expert within their technology areas.
  • Have experience of CIS/security/hardening techniques and areas of applicability
  • Have delivered programs of work to automate manual activities, applying configuration settings across the enterprise, and centrally deploy systems and tooling.
  • Exhibit strong trouble shooting and problem solving skills.

Desirable Skills/Abilities (but not essential):

  • As we progress our strategy of moving more workloads to public cloud, an understanding of AWS technologies, tools and services would be a distinct advantage.
  • Having experience of utilising Jira for work management and time tracking.
  • Exposure to ISO27001 audits.
  • Have experience of SaaS, Iaas & PaaS solutions and offerings.
  • Any experience of integrating systems or standardising technologies due to M&A integration activities would be beneficia
