Supplier Quality Engineer – Driving Improvement and Ensuring Quality

Job Summary

As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will play a crucial role in improving and maintaining the quality of components from external suppliers. Your responsibilities will include monitoring supplier performance, addressing manufacturing yield issues, and resolving field failures.

Internal Collaboration

You will work closely with various production, engineering, and quality personnel to investigate material-related issues during receiving inspection and manufacturing processes. Additionally, you will interface with Project Managers to provide updates on project status, discuss test procedures, address product reliability concerns, and share test results.

Relationship Management

Externally, you will engage with vendors to investigate and resolve material issues effectively. Your strong communication skills will be paramount in fostering successful relationships and ensuring timely remediation of any identified problems.

Analytical Expertise

Working under general supervision, you will validate and evaluate data, analyze failure causes, propose appropriate remedies, and document your findings. Your role will require the application of theoretical principles, creative thinking, and analytical techniques to solve technical problems. Additionally, you will keep up-to-date with technical advancements and industry specifications/standards, providing valuable insights and consultation as needed.

Process Optimization

Conducting your work with a continuous improvement mindset, you will identify and implement the most effective, cost-efficient, and best practices for executing processes. Regular evaluation of their effectiveness and appropriateness will be essential to achieving optimal outcomes.

Qualifications

 

  • Relevant degree in engineering or a related field
  • Proven experience in supplier quality engineering or similar roles
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
  • Familiarity with industry specifications and standards
