System Engineer

Job Description:

An experienced Linux and Windows System Engineer to strengthen our dynamic IT team.
As a Linux and Windows System Engineer you are responsible for implementing, managing, maintaining and optimizing our systems on both Linux and Windows platforms. 
You play an essential role in ensuring the stability, security and efficiency of our IT infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

Manage and maintain Linux and Windows servers, including installation, configuration and troubleshooting.
Monitoring the performance of systems and taking proactive measures to prevent potential problems.
Implement and manage security measures on both Linux and Windows platforms. 
Perform system upgrades and patches to ensure stability and security.
Implementing auditable systems to achieve integration with SOC services
Implementing and maintaining PKI infrastructures.
Resolving technical problems and providing support to users and colleagues.
Automate tasks and processes to improve IT team efficiency.
Documenting system configurations and procedures.

Profile:

Bachelors or Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a similar field.
Demonstrable knowledge and experience in very strict environments regarding safety and compliance.
Knowledge of managing Linux and Windows environments.
Passion for technology, digital security & IT
Knowledge and experience with regard to setting up the necessary logging and monitoring systems in combination with a SOC.
Knowledge of Linux distributions, such as CentOS, Ubuntu, or Red Hat, and Windows Server environments.
Interest in automation in the context of rollout and maintenance of systems.
Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
Familiarity with network protocols and configurations.
Familiarity with security standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, and CIS Controls.
Knowledge of scripting languages such as Bash, PowerShell, or Python is a plus. Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
Willing to work part-time on-site in Brussels (easily accessible by public transport and free use of underground parking).
In possession of Belgian nationality
