The Factory IT Support Analyst Role provides a unique opportunity to support a multitude of initiatives for site-based manufacturing systems and applications within the Resource Industries Operations & Products Division (RIOP). This role provides on-site factory, application and data support for the Denison, TX facility as part of the Tracked Products group.  The primary function of the role is to provide 1st line Factory/Facility systems & infrastructure support while being the liaison between the facility and additional IT groups within the client. Additional opportunities will range from Cybersecurity, Application Development, Data transformation and visualization. It’s a great way to develop skills you can use for future roles while being close to where product is built and learning aspects of the manufacturing and product development areas.

Typical Day:

  • Working directly on technical problem identification and resolution
  • Working independently or as part of a team on complex infrastructure technology components that may be used by one or more applications or systems
  • Working independently or as part of a team on complex projects that may span multiple infrastructure components
  • Participating in integrated testing and acceptance of infrastructure components
  • Working with vendors on the integration of purchased systems and/or infrastructure solutions
  • Working with vendors to troubleshoot/upgrade/patch purchased solutions to resolve critical issues and/or remediate security gaps
  • Designing and implementing processes, or process improvements, to aid in development and support

Technical Skills Required:

  • Candidate must have a Computer Science or Manufacturing degree, or 2 years IT factory-facing experience
  • 1 - 2 years demonstrated experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Candidate should have strong communication skills and be able to provide a positive customer support experience
  • Candidate must demonstrate strong teamworking skills and an ability to forge relationships with key IT organizations and suppliers to achieve success in delivering IT Solutions or resolution to issues
  • Ability to work independently and manage one’s time
  • Strong Problem Solving / Troubleshooting skills including a base understanding of PC configurations, images and software installation practices across a variety of devices
  • Must be able to configure and troubleshoot issues regarding desktops, laptops, tablets, and printers; Must understand Microsoft Office Suite and be able to Install/Configure applications
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory managing related organizational structures
  • Ability to reset passwords, create accounts and manage groups
  • Basic understanding of networking skills and understand factory firewall topologies and architectures
  • Comfortable being on your feet and working in a manufacturing environment such as wearing appropriate safety equipment and learning how to navigate a manufacturing environment safely
  • Job requires extensive active movement throughout plant including but not limited to climbing stairs and steps, lifting of devices, and pushing and pulling of equipment
  • Sense of urgency to resolve key outages or production line down situations as well as occasional off-shift support activities when required
  • Availability to work off-shift when needed for systems changes or be on a call rotation to provide support should any systems be down on an evening or weekends

Top Candidates will also have/Nice to haves:

  • 1-3 years’ experience with manufacturing applications (such as SAP, PINpoint or Lincoln Checkpoint/Weld Sequencer)
  • 1-3 years’ experience with Microsoft Applications (such as SharePoint, Power BI, PowerApps, Power Automate, Excel etc.)
  • Working knowledge of Cisco network hardware and software
  • General Networking skills, such as TCPIP settings on a PC, Cat5 Wiring, some knowledge of how VPN and Routers work; able to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, or other network and system problems, and replace defective components when needed
  • Strong communication skills, be an innovative thinker, have strong problem-solving skills, work well in a team environment, and possess strong customer relationship and customer support skills
  • Strong customer service skills, mindset that if you don’t know how to solve the problem, you’ll find the right group/contact that will
  • Basic script writing skills such as JavaScript and DOS Batch files, PowerShell, VB Scripting, Python
  • Database experience with Oracle, Snowflake or SQL related systems
  • MCSE Certification, Dell PC Certification and / or A+ Certification
  • Application Development experience
  • Understand IT Service Management and ITIL based support processes (Incident Management, Change Management Problem management
