Systems engineer

Saisystems Technology is currently looking for a Systems Engineer. 

Position can be remote, but with occassional travel -or- can be someone local to NYC.

Systems Engineer with experience in a multi-faceted technology environment.

The engineer will be on the infrastructure team and implement cutting edge solutions, with an emphasis

on security and automation, and maintain the existing environments. The engineer will also resolve

escalated tickets and mentor help desk staff. Occasional night and weekend availability required for

upgrades, migrations and critical issue resolution. Occasional travel to datacenters is required.

Responsibilities:

• Deploy software to servers and workstations using Microsoft Endpoint Manager and SCCM.
• Ensure operating system patches are tested and installed across the environment.
• Maintain VMware infrastructure and install patches.
• Monitor physical and virtual infrastructure and resolve incidents.
• Automate processes to reduce human error and increase productivity.
• Build new virtual machine templates and create virtual machines.
• Serve as the technical liaison to business users on new projects.
• Implement new infrastructure solutions, including storage arrays and business continuity solutions.
• Enhance Microsoft Office 365 implementation by adding features and managing policies.
• Test new versions of Windows Server and Workstation OS’s and create installation images to be deployed.
• Document existing solutions and procedures.

Requirements:

Must Have:

• Expert level knowledge of SCCM – OS image creation, patch management, application deployment
• Excellent Hybrid Azure / Windows Server Administration
• Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune) – co-management buildout
• Azure AD / Active Directory – GPO, Sites and Services, DHCP, DNS, IIS
• VMware ESXi / vSphere – version upgrades, patch management
• Datacenter technologies, e.g., Cisco UCS, Cohesity, Pure Storage
• Exchange Hybrid / Office 365 – advanced troubleshooting, implementing new features
• Microsoft SQL Server installation and administration
• Scripting, including PowerShell, KQL, Shell scripting (Python is a plus)
• Microsoft Azure administration, including server and network build out and configuration

Nice to Have:

• Certifications in SCCM / VMware / other technologies
• Mimecast - email flow troubleshooting and new feature implementations
• JAMF Administration for Mac environment
• Linux Administration and Configuration / Orchestration (RHEL / Ansible Desired)
• AWS experience is a plus
• Microsoft Sentinel or other SIEM is a plus
• Experience with a ticketing system and complying with SLA (ServiceNow is a plus)

Starting $45 to $75 per hr.  (Rate varies depending on experience)
