 SCOPE:

  • The Justice Technology Services - Digital Design Branch requires a Systems Testing QA Specialists (L3) to lead and manage the testing for the delivery of Criminal Justice Digital Design (CJDD) initiative products including eIntake, D2H2, DEM and Integration Platform solutions.

 

DELIVERABLES:

 

  • The QA Specialist will be working as a senior tester on various CJDD products. They will be testing product releases to ensure the developed applications and enhancements meet specifications and are ready for business validation. You will also be responsible for ensuring that defects and issues found are accurately logged, tracked, and resolved.
  • Key deliverables will include:
  • Documentation Review – Review project documents, analyze requirements and provide feedback
  • Document Creation – Creation of test plan, test scenarios, test data and training documentation
  • Production Support – Assist with troubleshooting production issues and support day-to-day operations
  • Testing – Developing and executing test scripts to identify, document, and track software defects found during testing cycle
  • Testing Support – Participate and support UAT
  • Collaboration - Work with business analysts, business users, project managers, development team, clients and external partners in a professional manner

 

Skills

Experience and Skill Set Requirements

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • 7+ years of experience in leading and managing testing for the delivery of an IT solution including, development of test plans, test cases and automated test scripts
  • Experience working with Agile teams in DevOps operating process environments
  • Demonstrated experience documenting and tracking testing and issue tracking systems such as JIRA, Azure DevOps Boards, Asana.
  • Experience testing for an enterprise application through the entire development life cycle from QA, UAT right through production readiness
  • Possess hands-on experience in test automation tools such as Selenium, Soap UI, UFT, JMeter and Katalan Studio

 

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

 

  • Experience in quality assurance at the specified experience level
  • Working knowledge of SharePoint, Web Services, HTML, JavaScript
  • Knowledge and experience in the use of automated test tools and version control systems on one or more platforms
  • Knowledge and experience in all phases of the Systems Development Life Cycle
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills; organizational, creativity and perseverance skills, verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Product cycle (functional & non-functional) testing experience
  • Test case development, design and review experience (from business requirements)
  • Experience in defect tracking
  • Experience in writing manual and automated test scripts

 

CRITERIA:

 Criteria 1 - Quality Assurance Skills (40 Points)

  • 7+ years of demonstrated experience in defect tracking using a collaborative tool to manage defects and change request and to communicate status of these to all project participants.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing test plans, test scripts and test data; documenting software defects and tracking resolutions.
  • Experience with User Acceptance Testing and leading initial UAT sessions

 

Criteria 2 - Technical Skills (30 Points)

  • Hands on experiences with technologies such as SharePoint, .NET Web, Web Services, HTML, JavaScript
  • Knowledge and experience in the use of automated test tools and version control systems on one or more platforms
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in all phases of the Systems Development Life Cycle
  • Demonstrated experience documenting and tracking testing and issue tracking systems such as JIRA, Azure DevOps Boards, Asana.

 

Criteria 3 - Business Skills (25 Points)

  • Demonstrated experience working with clients and technical teams to ensure effective resolution of defects and management of change requests are complete
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills; organizational, creativity and perseverance skills; strong verbal and written communication skills

 

Criteria 4 - Public Sector Experience (5 Points)

  • Previous experience working in government or public section organization – building enterprise case management systems and integration with various applications

 

KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER:

 

Knowledge to be Transferred:

  • Documentation including test scripts, test cases and test plan
  • Status of deferred defects and change requests

 

Knowledge to be Transferred to:

  • Project Manager, team members

 

Details of Transfer:

  • Knowledge Transfer to occur throughout the project life cycle.
  • 1:1 meetings / team meetings / documentation on SharePoint site

 

Must haves:
