IMPORTANT NOTES ABOUT THIS POSITION

 

Candidates MUST be onsite at the Boise office. Ideally, they would like someone onsite full time, but they will consider someone in a hybrid role with a MINIMUM of 3-days/week ONSITE, so please ONLY submit LOCAL CANDIDATES willing to work onsite as required.

 

The Idaho Department of Correction (IDOC) is seeking an experienced consultant to perform system analysis, develop and support business applications, set up software build automation and assist with SQL server setup. This person will work onsite in Boise at IDOC's central office (as noted in above details) with the IT Applications team.

 

Expectations:

 

Perform systems analysis

·         Analyze current data sources that support the business functions of IDOC.

·         Prepare electronic, written and verbal reports of the state of the data and IT applications.

·         Work with end-users to document solutions for business needs.

·         Evaluate system architecture to make recommendations for improvement.

·         Recommend technical solutions

·         Understand IDOC’s short and long-term data correction needs and make recommendations on analysis tools.

·         Recommend testing processes to ensure user needs are met and current systems continue to function.

·         Recommend architectural improvements to current systems.

·         Build approved solutions

·         Apply technical abilities to develop code, data structures, and other objects to implement approved solutions.

·         Use IDOC standard tools of Java, Javascript, SQL and SQL Server to implement approved solutions.

·         Follow Agile principles to build and release iterative and incremental solutions.

·         Implement automated software build processes.

·         Follow IT Applications Program Standards

·         Provide detailed design and specification documentation for all software solutions.

·         Participate in the identification, prioritization, and development of technical initiatives and strategies.
