Job Description:
Role: Technical Business Analyst
Location: Charlotte, NC
Full-Time/Permanent
Essential Functions
- Design, architect, and build data systems, pipelines, and business intelligence reporting solutions
- Identify data acquisition opportunities, organize and analyze data, identifying measures, dimensions, and key fields for trending and patterns
- Understand and evaluate business needs and develop analytical tools and BI solutions
- Prepare data for prescriptive and predictive reporting, displaying, and modeling
- Gathers and combines data from a variety of sources; building necessary algorithms, aggregation, etc. to drive business intelligence and actionable decision making
- Maintain the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) and influence data quality and reliability
- Address BI/EDW technical development working with operations, sales, supply chain, technical services, ERP applications, analytics, and finance & accounting teams
- Contribute to our suite of reports and data products while collaborating with business analysts, business process owners, and other team members, including UAT, and support for technical testing
- Work closely with senior team members in optimizing EDW performance and design, including outlining options to improve resilience and data quality monitoring
- Contribute to EDW architecture and report documentation
COMPETENCIES
- Data Modeling, Relational Databases, Data Warehousing, and Business Intelligence
- Experience in data warehousing, data marts, and OLAP
- Experience with ETL processes and data integrations
- Strong analytical skills, development experience, and excellent verbal and written communications
- Experience in Microsoft Azure, particularly Azure Data Factory and Azure Synapse
- Experience with MS D365 and AVEVA or similar ERP and MES solutions
- Experience in managing all stages of the development lifecycle, including planning, requirements gathering, designing, developing, documenting, testing, training, deployment, and support
- Experience in reporting and data analytics for ERP and MES platforms
- Experience in Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Logistics, and Finance and Accounting solutions Experience owning individual and cross-functional team deliverables on small to large projects
- Experience in Project and Change Management methodologies including Agile, Scrum, and Sprints
- Thorough understanding of how to interpret business needs and translate into solutions
- Willingness and availability to travel, and perform other duties as needed
- Capable of communicating clearly and concisely to all levels of both the Business and IT
- Must be a self-starter, manage workload autonomously, and balance competing priorities
- Desire to be a strong contributor and take on new responsibilities in a lean IT team and organization
Education And Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Analytics, or equivalent experience
- 3 years of experience preferred working with SQL and relational databases (MS SQL Server preferred)
- 3 years of experience preferred in reporting, dashboards, and BI tools (Power BI preferred)
- 3 years of experience preferred with Visual Studio, SSRS, and Power Platform and related tools
