Job Overview:
As a Technical Infrastructure Architect specializing in IT Infrastructure Support, you will lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's IT infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to provide technical expertise, support, and solutions for the organization's infrastructure needs.
Responsibilities:
Infrastructure Design and Planning:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business and technical requirements and translate them into comprehensive infrastructure designs.
- Design scalable, robust, and resilient IT infrastructure solutions, including servers, networking, storage, and cloud services, to support business operations.
- Technical Support and Troubleshooting:
- Provide technical guidance and support to resolve complex infrastructure issues, including hardware, software, networking, and performance-related challenges.
- Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to ensure timely issue resolution.
Incident and Problem Management:
- Manage and oversee the IT infrastructure incident response process, ensuring timely and effective resolution of incidents to minimize service disruptions.
- Implement proactive measures to identify and mitigate potential problems before they impact the organization.
Infrastructure Optimization:
- Continuously monitor system performance, capacity, and availability to identify opportunities for optimization and enhancement.
- Implement performance tuning, load balancing, and other optimization techniques to maintain optimal infrastructure operation.
Vendor Management:
Collaborate with technology vendors to evaluate, select, and procure hardware, software, and services that align with the organization's infrastructure strategy.
- Manage vendor relationships and contracts to ensure the delivery of high-quality products and services.
Patch Management and Upgrades:
- Develop and execute patch management strategies to keep infrastructure components up to date with the latest security patches and updates.
- Plan and oversee hardware and software upgrades to ensure compatibility and minimize disruptions.
Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity:
- Design, implement, and regularly test disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure data protection and minimal downtime in the event of disruptions.
- Security and Compliance:
- Collaborate with security teams to implement and enforce security best practices, including access controls, encryption, and network security.
- Ensure infrastructure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Documentation and Training:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of infrastructure configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Provide training and knowledge sharing to technical teams and end-users on infrastructure-related topics.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s OR master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Technical Infrastructure Architect or similar role with a strong focus on IT infrastructure support.
- In-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure technologies, including servers, networking, storage, and virtualization.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and experience with hybrid cloud environments.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex technical issues.
- Proficiency in incident and problem management processes, with experience using IT service management (ITSM) tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Relevant certifications such as ITIL, CompTIA Server+, Cisco CCNA, or equivalent.
