Description

We have requirement for two Telecom System Engineers with 4G/5G Core troubleshooting experience to join our team serving our largest client.

Our client, a tier 1 mobile network operator, is transforming the way it manages security on its pre-production network activities. One of the goals is to reduce the time between vulnerability identification and the resolution being deployed and these positions will play a critical part in achieving this goal.

You will be supporting the teams engineering and validating the FirstNet network. FirstNet is a new network solution being develop for our first responders. It will provide capabilities and functionality beyond anything they have available today and will ultimately save lives.

You will need to analyze FirestNet security logs to identify vulnerabilities and then use your EPC/5G experience to assess the impact of the vulnerability and communicate the issues to the client’s platform teams and the OEM.

Duties

  • Work closely with client’s platform and security teams to continuously improve network security.
  • Review changes to security requirements and develop detailed understanding of scan log content.
  • Review security scan logs and identify vulnerabilities.
  • Document vulnerabilities in client tools.
  • Identify where vulnerability resides and assess risk on end-to-end call flow/ service.
  • Perform and document risk assessment, quantify possible impact, and assign criticality indicator.
  • Vulnerability prioritization.
  • Review risk assessment with platform owners, OEM, and security team to ensure complete understanding of vulnerability.
  • Follow up with platform team on status of vulnerability resolution.
  • Propose and implement process improvement and/ or automation

Location

While candidates based near Redmond, WA are preferred, the client is open to consider well qualified candidates working remotely within the USA mainland.

Candidates will be expected to support teams working in different time zones throughout the USA.

All candidates will be expected to work remotely at times, so they will need to have a suitable working environment with robust internet connectivity.

Job requirements

Required Experience:

  • 2+ years in-depth troubleshooting of EPC/5G platforms.
  • 2+ years Virtual lab experience: Cisco Packet Tracer, Virtual Box, GNS3: Remote App: WinSCP, TeamViewer.
  • Detailed EPC/ 5G call flow knowledge.
  • Knowledge/ experience working with SSH.
  • Proficient in use of tcpdump, Wireshark, IRIS, JDSU.
  • Linux network troubleshooting
  • VMware ESX performance issue troubleshooting
  • Verifying DNS resolutions

Preferred Experience:

  • FirstNet experience; eMBMS, MC PTT
  • Working experience with Security Audit Compliance Tools, Information about Enterprise Databases and Servers, Common Security Platforms, and enhanced Korn Shell.
  • Automation experience. Python, Ansible etc
