Job Description:
ENGINEER II POSITION - temp to perm -
Maintaining and monitoring the telecommunication network, applications and infrastructure for a customer service environment. Includes platform availability, monitoring, trouble isolation, corrective action implementation, project delivery, and rotating out of hours on-call support. This position will work closely with other operational team members to support the mission critical architecture and strategic corporate initiatives.
Essential Job Functions
- Working knowledge of customer support call flows and network architectures
- Working knowledge in Telecom operations support (PBX, IVR, Carrier Ops, Call Processing, Network Management)
- Previous Telecom operations support experience in maintenance, implementation and design
- Previous experience working on large complex systems is required
- Able to communicate ideas efficiently in writing as well as orally
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment
- Ability and desire to share knowledge and experience with others
- Ability to manage and coordinate medium-to-large scale projects
- Analyzes existing processes and identifies opportunities for improvement
- Intermediate knowledge of Genesys Framework, Management, and Reporting 7+
Job Requirements:
Specific Requirements (Technical Knowledge, Software, Etc.)
- At least 5 years experience in Telecom Operations
- Knowledge of call routing platforms
- Experience in Telecom trouble isolation and resolution
- Intermediate level experience and knowledge of Genesys Framework, management and Reporting 7+ is required.
- Knowledge of Voice and Data circuits: ISDN, POTS, PSTN, DS1/T1, PRI, T3/DS3
- Operational and on-call experience
- Knowledge of TCP/IP and networking
- Moderate knowledge of SIP desired
Additional Skills (would like to have but not required)
- Avaya knowledge a definite plus
- Working knowledge of IVR interaction a pus
- Experience and/or knowledge of SONUS Gateways
- Cisco CCNA a plus
