As Tower Hand, your duties and responsibilities will involve installation, moderation, repair, and performing routine maintenance on cell tower components or radio antenna equipment. This role will be working in a crew environment assisting with structural projects, which may include new builds, site mods, or installations on a rooftop. Daily activities may include on-site installation, repair, and modification.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

• This role supports the Tower team in the installation, maintenance, and de-installation of all aspects of wireless cell sites.

• Climbing towers and ladders of various heights

• Maintaining, repairing, and occasionally installing various cell tower types.

• Construction, troubleshooting, calibration, testing, and maintenance of telecommunications equipment.

• Maintain proper installation, troubleshooting, and repair techniques

• Performing additional maintenance or upgrades on out-of-season equipment.

• Conducting performance checks and regular maintenance.

• Working with a crew and responding to service calls promptly.

• Complete assigned tasks within the project scope accurately and efficiently

• Participate in and carry out installation, repair, modification, optimization, or acceptance test procedures of wireless infrastructures and electrical equipment

• Follow all Company, local, industry and federal safety regulations and requirements.

• Ability to travel for multiple days with Per Diem

QUALIFICATIONS and REQUIREMENTS

• Previous telecommunications tower experience

• Comfortable in both climbing and heights

• Knowledge of electronic, mechanical, and electrical components

• Must be able/willing to comply with all safety procedures and protective gear.

• Skilled in the use of Hand / Power tools

• Able to operate a computer or tablet

• Ability to read and understand construction drawings (a plus)

• Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record (if driving a Company

Vehicle) and be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen

• Climbing Safety & Rescue Certification (a plus)

• Compliance with FCC/FAA/EPA/OSHA Regulations

• Outstanding work ethic, punctual and on time

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following:

• Climbing structures and or operating lifts for prolonged periods.

• Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining 100% safety awareness

• Calculate figures and amounts and understand rigging techniques

• Work in extreme weather, high altitudes, and in remote areas

• Climb over 80 ft, lift over 50 pounds and stretch above your head, stooping, bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing, and standing for long periods of time; have an unimpaired hearing; able to distinguish between colors; read printed materials
